Ervin Family Vacation – Boston, MA 2013
Family Vacations Pics from Walt Disney World – The Art of Animation Resort!
Jamaica was WONDERFUL! We enjoyed everything about it! We absolutely loved the resort and our room! We did notice that it needed some updating (the jacuzzi tub didn’t work in our room sadly) but it wasn’t enough to ruin our trip or demand a room change! The weather for the most part was nice but it did rain 3 days while we were there! We also got to visit two places off the resort – Ricks Cafe and Margaritaville! We can’t wait to pick our next vacation location! We would love to experience other places, islands! Thanks for all of your hard work, we have recommended you to EVERYONE we talk to!
The lounge was worth the $30 for sure! Once we got through the ticket line, our vouchers helped us easily pass through immigration and security within 15 minutes! The actual lounge was beautiful and they had a full bar and snack foods (all included)! They even had a “kids free” zone 🙂
Hawaii was wonderful! The location was great with just stepping out the door you could get to wherever you wanted in a matter of minutes. Thank you for all your help!!!! We wouldn’t have had as great a time without you.
You had booked a flight for me to Cebu Philippines in the beginning of July. I just wanted to drop you a short message to tell you i had a great time there. And i was glad i went. The flight was flawless both there and back. My daughter said she wants to go with me this next time. So I’ll be contacting you when we get ready to go again. Thanks so much for your help. Here’s a picture from the Philippines.
Thanks again so much
I wanted to tell you that we had an absolutely amazing time at the El Dorado Casitas! It was better than we ever imagined. We loved the exclusion of the casitas. And, the casitas were unbelievably beautiful. The grounds, room, pools, etc. And, we always had multiple private beach beds and pool chairs available. The rooms were amazing as well. We loved the bed on the balcony, outdoor shower (connected to the bathroom) and huge jacuzzi tub. Honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice.
Also, we really enjoyed the fact that we had access to the larger El Dorado resort. We liked having the large options as far as restaurants and activities. While we loved the casitas (and it was exactly what we were looking for on this trip) we would be happy to stay at the larger El Dorado resort in the future. While it’s large, the way the resort is laid out makes it so that it never seems too crowded.
Sorry for the long note! I just wanted you to be able to pass on our recommendation to others.
Thank you again for everything!!!
The trip was amazing. The Iberostar Grand Rose Hall was one of the most gorgeous resort hotel we have been too, and the service and amenities were awesome. So If you have future clients that are looking to travel to Montego Bay put this hotel at the top of your list. The girls loved it so much they are already talking about booking our trip for next year. We were thinking about St. Thomas, St. Lucias or even Ocho Rios because we loved Jamaica so much. Thank you for all that you have done and we will be in contact soon about our next trip. I will personally be in contact for my families trip to Orland. Thanks a bunch.
Well, we did it again! We had a wonderful time in Jamaica. Everything went smooth…no problems with the travel or the accommodations. Thank you.
The Radisson in Memphis was perfect! We did some fun things there Sunday afternoon and evening. How can you go to Memphis and not visit Graceland at least once? Well we were so glad we did that (even though it is very cheesy!!)
We found the Sandals Grande Ochos Rios a terrific place to be. The staff was so very friendly and kept us so busy. We snorkeled and sailed several days. We hiked up the Dunns River Waterfall! We swam and sunned and ate and ate and ate! We thoroughly enjoyed the live entertainment every day at lunch, dinner and after dinner. There was more we could have done if we had had the time and energy! We only had rain on Friday night and as we left on Saturday, the rest of the week we had great weather.
We are already talking about the ‘next time’!!
Jimmy and I had a wonderful trip to Hawaii thanks so much to you and your great planning. The tour you booked for us in Honolulu was so interesting. We started the morning off early at Pearl Harbor and then saw the beautiful island the remainder of the day. The second morning was at our leisure before boarding the cruiseship. Everyday was packed full of excursions and many wonderful memories. The islands are breathtaking — something one has to see with their own eyes. We enjoyed the Luau show but the food wasn’t quite what we expected. Our balcony room was so nice. I hope if we ever take another cruise, we will be able to get a balcony room.
The only part of the trip we didn’t enjoy was the long flight particularly the return flight. But that’s just part of having fun!
Don and Gwen enjoyed the trip as much as we did. We all had a great time.
Thanks so much for all your help and suggestions.
Paula:
As we discussed, I wanted to send you some observations regarding our recent trip to Italy, in the hope that you might be able to forward our comments on to Globus and from there, on to the people actually involved in our tour. It’s always a pleasure to give “kudo’s” for jobs well done, because too often people tend to hear only the complaints.
As we had told you when planning the trip, this would be our first time to take a guided vacation tour. My wife, Jenny, and I had planned for a couple of years to celebrate Meagan’s graduation from Mississippi State University, with a trip to Italy. The timing of this tour tied in well with my Boston College class reunion on June 2nd and 3rd.
Regarding the tour, and having no other experience to compare it with, I can’t imagine any tour being better, far exceeding any expectations we had before we left Boston. Even though we had a couple of minor weather related problems, we agree that we rate our experience as “terrific”. Also, as a side issue, but one that we considered in committing to this tour, the value received for the money spent proved to be one of the great bargains in my experience. The hotel/resort accommodations alone were huge bargains. It helped greatly that the bus itself and the hotel rooms were spacious enough that we never felt cramped, a feature that is especially important to me. (I’m 6’4″, and they call me “Big Mo” Mahoney for a reason.) We also appreciated the fact that we had reservations at the different sites, e.g. the Vatican Museum, and did not have to wait in line for extended periods.
But, the key(s) to our enjoyment rests with Michelle-LNU (or “last name unknown”), our tour director, and our bus driver (Raphael-LNU- hope the spelling is the correct one), who were very accommodating, personable and organized. Michelle, who has been directing tours for 23 years, provided great insight into local customs, history and experience of the culture of the various regions. Without a huge amount of prior research it would be impossible to enjoy the same experience in such a short period of time. She also presented the information with a touch of humor that added to the enjoyment. We had preplanned that we would skip some of the optional tours, but guided by Michelle’s information, we are glad we changed our mind and took advantage of the opportunity to go to Isola Bella and Burano. We would have missed out on what turned out to be two of the highlights of our trip.
(It’s impossible to name a single event that was the most memorable, but the evening in the Tuscan Hills at Tre Pini was exceptional, and that was one we had planned on experiencing in planning the trip). The group dinners, and especially those featuring music/entertainers (e.g. the Welcome dinner at Quo Vadis in Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Sorrento, and the Farewell dinner in Rome) were truly memorable.
Because of her experience, Michelle had contacts wherever we went, and it was obvious that these people have enjoyed and valued the relationship they have with her. Meagan, who took reams of notes, probably mentions all of the excellent local guides by name. Patricia (Patrizia?), Leah, Romeo, Alexandrea, and Pepino are the names I remember, and all gave great presentations with more detail than anyone could expect.
We believe we also had a good group of 44 people to travel with, from diverse backgrounds that also made the tour more interesting. Once we got used to the daily routine, everyone was conscious of and dedicated to maintaining the schedule.
Summing it up, we came to appreciate all the hard, behind-the-scenes, and no doubt tiring work that it took for Michelle and Raphael to coordinate such an enjoyable experience for us. Globus can be proud to have them as associates. You can be certain that we’ve already highly recommended Globus to our friends. Also, when the time comes for us to plan another trip to some location that is totally outside our culture and experience, we will consider Globus first and measure any future tour, tour director, and support group against the experience we had on this tour.
If this e-mail ultimately gets to Michelle and Raphael, as I would hope, all we can say to each of you is “Thanks for a truly great experience, and we wish you all the best always”.
Thanks, Paula, for working on this with us, and we look forward to our next opportunity to take a tour.
